Steve Mo is the founder and managing director of MGA Legal. Steve has worked on a wide range of matters including civil litigation, insolvency, mortgage & finance, employment dispute and general corporate advice.


Steve’s focused areas include the following: 


  1. Alternative Dispute Resolution: Participating in dialogues with all  interested parties, rebuilding trust and consensus, exploring common grounds for negotiation, mediation, or conciliation, facilitating agreement  to be achieved based on mutual understanding, reasonable compromise and joint commitments. 
  2. Commercial & Corporate Advice: Assisting with risk management and corporate governance, providing guidance on pro-active measures before key legal actions, making recommendations on maintaining, ending or restoring relationship with insiders and outsiders, advising all kinds of  issues from business structure to day-to-day dispute. 
  3. Civil Litigation: Detailing the pros and cons at an early stage of a matter, providing strategic planning based on the client’s objective, reevaluating the case merits from time to time, and attending hearings in the District and Supreme Court of New South Wales, Federal  Circuit Court and Federal Court of Australia. 
  4. Liquidation, Administration and Bankruptcy: Providing advice on restructuring issues, coordinating communication with all interested parties for solutions, working with insolvency professionals including liquidator, administrator, trustee, receiver, and related legal practitioners,  and assisting with litigation or recovery action when necessary. 
  5. Employment Disputes: Attending meetings with employer and/or employees, participating negotiation or conciliation, preparing all necessary notices, minutes, or agreements when required and attending hearings at Fair Work Commission.
  6. Real Property: advising on a variety of real property transactions in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, including land acquisition, development, leasing, mortgage, and regulatory requirements, and providing legal support to home office.

Steve also has a keen interest and passion in helping small businesses to grow, expand and thrive. Steve is willing to listen to his clients, resonate with their experience and share his views without reservation. Over the decade of practice, Steve has become close companions to many business owners and developed strong relationships of trust and confidence with them.


Steve was admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and High Court of Australia in 2012. He holds Juris Doctor degree, Master of Law and Bachelor of Commerce. In his spare time, Steve is the producer of “Life Think Tank” from 2018 focusing on topics regarding global economy, legal reforms, and culture conflicts and has published commentary video on “how smart contract may change legal industry”.

YOLANDA ZHANG

ASSOCIATE


Yolanda Zhang is a solicitor at MGA Legal, specializing in commercial law, corporate law, civil litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. Since her admission as a solicitor in 2021, Yolanda has gained extensive experience representing clients in the federal and New South Wales courts, as well as in international arbitration, including the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC).


Yolanda’s main practice spans a diverse range of legal areas, including:


1. Civil Litigation: Facilitating in a broad spectrum of dispute resolution matters between companies, joint venture partners and shareholders, assisting clients in recovering outstanding debts and enforcing judgments, and representing clients in the Federal Court of Australia, as well as Local, District, and Supreme Courts;

2. Commercial Transactions: Supporting clients with business structuring, joint venture agreements, shareholder agreements, share transfer, and the purchase and sale of businesses, as well as conveyancing;

3. Leasing: Advising on and managing large-scale lease matters across New South Wales and Queensland;

4. Building and Construction Disputes: Facilitating in making and defending claims under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999 (NSW) on behalf of landowners, developers, builders and subcontractors;

5. Lending and Finance: Drafting and advising on loan, mortgage and security documents, including conducting due diligence and supporting the settlement and discharge of loans;

6. Family Law: Drafting Binding Financial Agreements, divorce applications and providing general advice on family law matters.

Yolanda holds a Juris Doctor degree and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney. Prior to pursuing a career in law, she worked in accounting and human resources, which has given her a unique perspective when providing legal solutions.

She is also deeply passionate about languages, having majored in French Studies during her undergraduate studies. Senior Paralegal


Hannah is senior paralegal of MGA Legal. With over 10 years of experience as a legal assistant, she has considerable hands-on experience in the processing of all kinds of property transactions across New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland.


Her focused areas include the following: 


1. Residential property settlement: Assisting with conveyancing of residential property, ordering necessary searches, inspecting reports, and correspondence with all related parties; 

2. Retail and commercial leasing: Assisting with registration of commercial and retail leases with Land Registry NSW, Titles Queensland and Land VIC, response to requisitions and attending to stamping (if required);

3.  Regulator’s requisitions and compliance: Assisting to correspond with related authorities including Revenue Office, Australia Taxation Office, Foreign Investment Review Board and Land Registry in both state and federal levels in respect of any applications, requisitions, exemptions, concessions, or objections;

4.  Debt recovery support: Assisting with inspecting credit reports, preparing necessary forms, calculating interests accrued, conducting searches and serving legal documentation;
